Hi Everyone,

I hope each of you enjoyed your time off from school and are ready to get back to work. Tomorrow you will continue making transactions as we will have access to the laptops again. Your homework tonight is as follows:

Captain/Director: E-mail everyone on your team and make sure they understand their responsibilities. Review the team ranking and see what stocks have performed well and which ones have not. Be prepared to make some decisions about which stocks your team will keep and which stocks they might wish to sell.

Basic Economic Research Coordinator: Find out/research what is unemployment? What does the word mean? What is the unemployment rate? What does that term mean? What is the U.S. Unemployment Rate? Is is high or low compared to what is was 6 months ago? Why is this information important for the Stock Market Game? Please have this information in your notebooks or printed out for class tomorrow ready to share with your team.

Technical Economic Research Coordinator: You will come to class tomorrow having researched three new products that have just been released or will be released in the next few months. An example of this could be the next version of the I-Pad or I-Pod, the latest video game, or a new piece of sports equipment. You need to have the name of the product and it must be manufactured by a company whose stock is publicly traded. Also you must have your reasons written down as to why these products will make money for their companies and why these companies might be a very good investment for your team.

During the teacher conferences today Ms. Schneider commented that too many students are not coming to class with their independent reading books, Please make sure that each of you has his or her book with you at all times. From now on I will be making notes about this in Skedula while taking attendance.
